The brazen city of Boston holds a strong chin up as the one year anniversary since the tragic bombings approaches. While the city has had a phenomenal sporty year with the Red Sox’s taking home the seventh World Series title, and an impressive football season made even more watchable for women thanks to hunky Tom Brady, many are anticipating this year’s marathon with emotions running high.
This year the finish line will be conquered by many new runners, local and international, many of whom have chosen to be sponsored on their run by supporting schools, churches, and organizations. While the memory of the 2013 marathon still stings in the city’s collective consciousness, there is a deeper longing to commemorate those that were hurt, and a will to celebrate the strength that held its citizens together during last year’s time of anxiety.
